Inspiring Futures with The Swift x Fugee Career Fair
For refugee youth navigating non-traditional education pathways, understanding what lies beyond the classroom and in the real world can sometimes feel like a distant dream.
With limited exposure to diverse industries, professions, and corporate spaces, many students feel uncertain about where their talents and interests can take them.
Realising how important this gap is, Fugee collaborated with Swift Malaysia last September 8, 2026 to host an interactive Career Fair for approximately 30 of our Year 9 and GED students.
Taking place in Fugee School, this programme was deliberately crafted to break down corporate jargon and introduce students to future career possibilities. It offers our students a hands-on look into the professional world through direct interactions and engagements with Swift team members who came from different departments across the company.
The event opened with interactive sessions designed to get students thinking creatively about different jobs. During the "Guess My Job" segment, Swift employees dropped fun clues about their daily work like "I work with numbers" or "I help disseminate information across the entire company."
Fugee students had a blast piecing together the hints, discovering unfamiliar professions like "Internal Auditor," and gaining a behind-the-scenes look at how a global financial institution operates.
The centerpiece of the afternoon was a structured Mini Career Fair, where students rotated in small groups through dedicated Exploration Stations.
Guided by interactive questionnaires and custom card games designed by the Swift team, students explored key business functions including HR & Career Development, IT & Tech, Finance & Audit, International & Overseas Careers, Data & Analytics, and Communications & Community Engagement.
By keeping groups small at each station, every student had the space to ask direct questions, engage with the educational activity cards, and demystify pathways into global industries.
The last segment of the day was the "Dream Circle" where students gathered with their respective Swift “buddies” for open, honest conversations with industry professionals to explore how personal passions, skills, and values translate into meaningful career choices.
Having conversations over sandwiches and treats provided by Swift, the students enjoyed a relaxed environment where they felt comfortable sharing their aspirations, asking candid questions about adulthood, and building genuine connections with their mentors.
Career exposure is a crucial pillar of Fugee’s mission to nurture agency, learning, and belonging. When young people see diverse career paths modeled by supportive mentors, abstract university and career goals transform into actionable steps for their futures.
