Fugee School is the heart of our organization, dedicated to ensuring that no refugee child in Malaysia is left behind in education due to their status. As part of the global effort to support refugees in Malaysia, we align with initiatives by organisations like the UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, to provide quality education and long-term opportunities.
At Fugee School, we are committed to creating education pathways through a holistic focus on academic, social, and personal development for all refugee students, at any age and stage of their education journey.
As a leader in refugee education in Malaysia, Fugee School has educated over 700 students from kindergarten to secondary school. Success at Fugee School means every child receives the opportunity and support to reach their full potential and build dignified lives.
Our goal is to be a transformative school specifically designed for refugee learners, ensuring they achieve an 80% pass rate on internationally recognised exams (GED) while being fully prepared for real-world success.
Our curriculum is specially designed to address the unique challenges faced by refugees, providing world-class education through expert teachers, innovative technology, and comprehensive support for holistic learning.
In a supportive and culturally inclusive environment, we equip students with the skills and knowledge to excel academically, overcome challenges, and build a future filled with opportunities and aspirations.
Fugee kindergarden uses a thematic pedagogy focused on learning through play in a safe, inclusive environment. Meanwhile primary classes uses Cambridge Checkpoint curriculum with Global Perspectives to develop 21st-century skills.
Secondary school classes uses a hybrid curriculum combining Texas Core and Cambridge standards, along with Social Studies for GED exam readiness.
The foundation classes bridges students with educational gaps to develop their skills from Year 4-6 in English, Maths and Science through an intensive one-year programme. This layered approach strengthens subject knowledge and language skills in preparation for a smooth transition in the mainstream academic pathway. Our ongoing support helps them adjust smoothly, both academically and socially.
The General Educational Development (GED) test is the American alternative to the Cambridge A-level test, High School
Certificate, and other higher secondary credentials. Once students pass the GED exams, they will proudly hold the GED diploma, signifying 12th-grade level knowledge.
The Dream School is a goal we have set for ourselves to build a bigger, brighter, and safe learning environment for our students. We aim to design our curriculum into a blended learning model to increase our student capacity. This involves teacher training and digitising school systems for smoother operations. Our focus is on improving the pedagogical approach to enhance our kids' cognitive and social development. Every child must feel safe, excited and motivated to come to school everyday.
